December 4 – 4:00-7:00pm FAFSA questions and help night. Leah Louallen will be here in the Harpeth High School library to answer any questions you have about filling out the FAFSA. I will be blocking off 20 minute time increments for parents to meet with Leah. If you are planning to come, please contact me, by email or phone, to schedule your time.

*Ann & Allegra Ford Scholarships for students with Learning Disabilities: Two high school seniors with documented learning disabilities can apply for these awards. Ann Ford Scholarship awards $10,000 to attend 4-yr university; Allegra Ford Scholarship awards $2500 to attend a 2-yr community college or vocational/tech program. *Prudential Spirit of Community Awards - Recognizes young people for volunteer service in their communities with $1000-5000scholarship.  Application available at www./spirit.prudential.com.  Must go through online process to become “certified” by Principal or the head of one of these officially designated local organizations: county 4-H, Girl Scout Council, American Red Cross, YMCA, or affiliate of HandsOn Network.  Deadline: November 6, 2018
 
*Hagan Scholarship Foundation: Hagan scholarships are for high achieving students who will require financial assistance in order to attend college. Visit the website for eligibility and application, www.hsfmo.org. Deadline: November 15, 2018
 
*2019 Most Valuable Student Scholarship contest – The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2019 competition.  The MVS scholarship competition is open to any high school senior who is a US citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.  For additional information and application, visit www.elks.org/scholars Deadline: November 15, 2018
 
*American Quarter Horse Foundation – AQHF will award up to $8,000 four-year scholarship. Applicants must be a member of the American Quarter Horse Association or American Quarter Horse Youth Association and live in Tennessee. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need, academic merit, and AQH involvement. For more information, please visit their website: www.aqha.com/foundation

*Tennessee Concrete Association Essay Contest: Essay must be typed, double-spaced and may not exceed 600 words. Essays judged on content & writing ability (grammar, style, clarity, etc.). Must fill out entry form online at www.tnconcrete.org and submit essay by Deadline:March 15, 2019
 
*Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship: The foundation will award a $2500 scholarship per year. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5; must demonstrate financial need; and must be planning to pursue a business or STEM degree at a four-year, not-for-profit College. For additional information and application, visit www.scarlettfoundation.org. Deadline: December 15, 2018
 
*Sertoma Essay Contest: The top winners of the contest will receive, winner $3,500 and 3 runner’s up $2,000.  Must be a 12th grader who intends to attend an accredited institution of higher learning. Essay requirements and information are in the guidance office. Deadline: January 9, 2019
 
*Stan & Thelma Plumlee Scholarship: Tennessee Manufacturing Housing Association (TMHA) offers $8000 (4yr) scholarships to students who are associated with the manufactured home industry in some way (living in a manufactured home, working in the industry, having a relative who works in the industry).  Must attend a TN college/university, junior college, or an accredited trade/technical school.  More info available at www.tnmha.org.  Applications are available in the guidance office. Deadline: March 8, 2019
 
*Grote Chemistry Scholarship at University of Tennessee Chattanooga: To be eligible, you must complete a course in high school chemistry with an A or B; have a 3.5 GPA or higher; ACT score of 26 or higher; and declare chemistry as your major at UTC.  Application can be found at www.utc.edu/chemistry-physics Deadline: February 15, 2019 
 
*SunTrust Off to College Scholarship Sweepstakes - $500 scholarship for students. High school seniors and current undergraduate college students can enter for a chance to win the scholarship.  One winner will be chosen every two weeks from September 10, 2018 – May 13, 2019.  Must enter online at www.suntrust.com/offtocollege
