About me

I have been teaching high school since 1996, with 17 years at a private school in Nashville and on staff at Harpeth since 2013. I was blessed to be able to coach soccer at Harpeth for several years, and blessed to coach my two sons in golf and soccer here.

As a singer/songwriter, music brought me to Nashville; so, of course, I waited tables for three years – I was at the West End Cooker for old timers who remember that great place. Music was a great way to see the country. My wife, Tammy, and I continue to travel – a favorite hobby. We moved to Kingston Springs from Franklin in 2014 and call it “Mayberry west of Nashville” when out of town and folks ask us our hometown.

I enjoy several things related to my job – reading, writing, and editing – and do these things in my spare time (when I’m not playing golf.) I have written three novels since May of 2020, all self-published on Amazon, and they are available to students for free in the school library: Pen Dreams, A Good Place to be From, and In the Silent Halls.
